Take a look at Xbox One's proper in-game guide

Come November 12, the Xbox Guide will rise like a phoenix from the ashes of convenience. Microsoft laid out how the returning feature will work in the New Xbox One Experience in a video and news post, and it looks like a huge improvement in terms of keeping you in the game.

The guide will give you "up to 50 percent" faster access to your friends list, party chat, notifications, and commonly used settings like voice chat volume and power options. You can access them all from the Home screen by tapping left, but it really shines as an in-app shortcut: just tap the Xbox button twice to pull it up on the left side of the screen without ever leaving your game.

Yes, one of the coolest features of the New Xbox One Experience is basically a return to what Xbox 360 was doing years ago. But you know what they say: if you love something, set it free. Then, if you can redownload it in a huge system update along with backwards compatibility, it was meant to be.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
