Rumour: Harrison Ford has sizeable role in Star Wars: Episode VII?

The Star Wars: Episode VII rumours continue to show no sign of abating, with Deadline reporting that Harrison Ford's involvement in the new film will translate to some hefty screen time.

While it had been assumed that Ford and returning co-stars Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher would be appearing in virtual cameos, the report claims that a "gigantic role" has been written for Ford.

Meanwhile, THR reporter Borys Kit has shed some light on a couple of casting rumours, claiming that John Boyega could well be in the running for a role, having dropped out of Jesse Owens biopic, Race .

However, Oscar Isaac's reported involvement looks to have broken down, with Kit claiming that negotiations stalled over scheduling issues. Apparently Isaac has theatre commitments that can't be broken…

Hopefully we'll have an end to all the smoke and mirrors very soon, when some concrete casting is finally announced. Star Wars: Episode VII opens in the UK on 18 December 2015.
