From now on, your Forge maps could become part of official Halo 5 playlists

Now, when I use map editors, I just use them to sculpt swear words and my friends' names, or try to make some gimmick level, before giving up and just playing with something nice and simple, like the buttons on my shirt. But it turns out some of you actually try to make proper maps, and 343's rewarding you with the ultimate prize - becoming an officially-sanctioned Halo multiplayer map.

In a post on Halo Waypoint, the developer announced that it was closing out the "January season" by community maps from a single mode to a public playlist:

"We’re taking the top community Breakout maps and throwing them into the Breakout playlist so you can find your favorites. Next week, you'll get to vote on your top choices, and the winning maps will be integrated into the February 2016 Breakout playlist along with the previous on-disc maps."

Breakout, with it's singular style and symmetrical design, is the easiest place to start, but that doesn't mean things won't get more elaborate down the line. 343 specifically mentions other mode types, "from competitive 4v4 to Big Team Battle to wacky mini-games and Action Sack, and more". Get designing.
