This kiddy-friendly pooch pic was inspired by real-life basketball-playing canine Buddy, and in the States they've already had a sequel (Air Bud: Golden Receiver), with a third instalment (Air Bud: The Next Generation) on the way - despite the death of the original star (sniff). Have no doubt that this mutt can really play basketball and although the pace becomes oversentimental in places, the hound is ready to bound on at all times and enliven the proceedings.
In this outing, Buddy teams up with new kid in town; Josh (Zegers from this year's Great Expectations), to lead the school team on a winning streak. The supporting cast are well aware that they're just sideline players and are happy to hold their own while the show is stolen by the slam-dunking dog. Kids'll love it.
