"Australia, along with Europe (not including the UK) will receive RotA on the 12th of December 2008, while the North American release date is 4 days later (16th December). Followed by the UK release sometime in early 09.

Liquid Entertainment's Rise of the Argonauts has been delayed until 2009 in the UK, a Codemasters representative has told D+PAD.

Rise of the Argonauts, which is being published by Codemasters, was originally due to launch across the UK this Friday, but now won't be seeing a release until early next year.

In the middle of Olympic fever, Codemasters engineered something that allows those of us who weren't selected for the Olympic team to participate in some sporting events of our own.

For those of you that are old enough, you'll see Codies tipped their hats to the Track and Field game of yore and created a keyboard mashing, festival of fun for you and your friends. There are five events to participate in: 100m Dash, Javelin, Hammer Toss, Long Jump and Archery.

You can try practice mode to hone your skills at each of the five events or you can go straight into competition mode and have one go at each event to build up your overall score.

Throw down the gauntlet and challenge your friends - there's a live leaderboard in place so that you can see who really is the best between you, your friends and the rest of the world, so we'll all be able to keep tabs on who has the fastest fingers in the world!

"Codemasters today announced that the acclaimed film and TV composer, Tyler Bates, has signed on to score Rise of the Argonauts, an epic action/RPG in development by Liquid Entertainment and set to release Spring 2008. "This has the "possibilities" of being something worthwhile. I'm never really attracted to games of this nature, but based on the older Greek Mythologies has me seriously considering taking up the challenge of Jason to get his revenge against those responsible for the killing of his wife, "whether with the gods or against them".

It has all the hallmarks of an epic and from the early screens it is showing some decent promise. And if Codies can deliver on this, like they did with GRID recently, then it could well prove to be one of the best mythological slashers for 2008. Codies are working with Liquid Entertainment on this project and as yet, no code has been offered out for preview for us, but we'll be on their backs to grab some and give you a "x360-Hands-On" just as soon as we can."
