360 - RAGE - id CEO Hollenshead: Studio to remain 'games first, licenses second' Chris Remo from Gamasutra writes:

"Veteran independent studio id Software has been ambitious with its plans for upcoming engine id Tech 5, intending its use across multiple platforms and genres -- but don't expect the company to shoot for an Epic-size list of licensees, says CEO Todd Hollenshead.

"Our philosophy really hasn't changed from what it's always been, which is games first, licenses second," Hollenshead tells Gamasutra in an interview. "Working on Rage and working on Doom [4], which are both id Tech 5 games, are certainly our top priorities". "

360 - RAGE - id Software's Rage not coming in 2009. Ve3tro writes: "At the recent DICE event held last month Geoff Keighley asked CEO Todd Hollenshead if id's latest development Rage would release this year. "We will be probably looking at this for next year at least right, not this year?" it was obvious that Todd replied with "No, won't be out this year." while he shook his head.

Some site's are confirming that Todd actually said "No, we'll be out this year.", so with the confusion I gave Geoff a quick message asking which is correct with a response of "It's not coming this year he said."

So there you have it, a 2009 release is false at this time."

360 - RAGE - id On Rage 360 Discs: MS Not Being Dickheads Yesterday, a report quoting Rage lead designer Tim Willits saying that content had been cut from the id Software title due to the limiting size of Xbox 360 discs was quickly shot down by Willits himself.

Following the mix-up, Shacknews had a chance to sit down with Willits and put the issue to rest, as well as several other controversial topics related to Rage (PC, 360, PS3)--many of which were originally raised by id Software president John Carmack.

"As far as game content, I will swear on the lives of my children that nothing was cut," said Willits in an early shoot-down of the rumor. Now Willits says the whole thing was a classic misunderstanding."

"Microsoft is not being dickheads," he said. "It was a simple kind of miscommunication. Microsoft does not charge a royalty per disc, but there is a cost of goods that goes along with manufacturing."

360 - RAGE - id: Rage Not Cut Because of Xbox 360 Limits The limitations of the DVD medium and Xbox 360 hardware have not forced id to cut content from all versions of Rage (PC, PS3, 360), the studio has told Shacknews.

id stated, "There was NO CONTENT removed from RAGE because of the 360--NONE AT ALL. Moving from multiple wastelands into fewer but larger wastelands was a far better decision and is actually giving us more gameplay in the game.

We feel the 360 is a great platform and will provide a fantastic Rage experience."
