Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 Megamix: "46860 Choices" Now Available (News)

Bizarre Creations released a special Geometry Wars music remix for free to download to the fans. Chris Chudley (of Audio Antics) was kind enough to put together a badass Megamix, featuring some of the songs from the entire GW series in a 13 minute long special remix version. The mix is named "46860 Choices", and we're releasing it for free download.

Geometry Wars Hits 1,000,000 Players (News)

Bizarre Creations announced today that the Xbox 360 versions of Geometry Wars have just logged over 1,000,000 leaderboard entries. Straight from the horse's mouth:

Today we are very pleased to announce that there are now more than one million combined leaderboard entries for Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 1 & 2! Now that's a lot of highscoring and shape blasting! GWRE was released in November 2005, and its sequel saw the light of day at the end of July 2008.

Unfortunately it's impossible to tell whether these leaderboard entries equate to one million real life people. It's possible to have multiple accounts on your Xbox 360 which are used by a single person. Also there's going to be quite a few people who own both games, and have a leaderboard entry on each. Mind you, the leaderboards also don't take into account anybody who plays whilst not connected to Xbox Live, for example folks who own the XBL games compilation disc.

Obviously these numbers don't take into account the versions of Geometry Wars available on other platforms: mobile phone, PC, Xbox 1, Nintendo Wii and DS.

Anyway, it's still a very important milestone for the Geometry Wars franchise and one which we're very proud of here at Bizarre. If you'd like to check your positions on the Retro Evolved leaderboards, you can do so directly on this website.

A sequel to the Xbox Live Arcade shooter Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved has been listed by Australian ratings group OFLC, providing extremely strong evidence that a follow-up is on the way.

Retro Evolved 2, which was submitted by Geometry Wars dev Bizarre Creations's new owner Activision, was issued a 'G' rating by the Australian group today.

It looks like the chances of us seeing a sequel to the stupidly addictive Xbox Live Arcade shooter Geometry Wars are quite good, if Bizarre Creations' reaction to our queries this afternoon are anything to go by. Original Rhythm Music Arcade Game Developed by Bizarre Creations

Electronic Arts today announced its launch onto Microsoft's Xbox Live Arcade with Boom Boom Rocket. The game is a hypnotic rhythm music game conceived by EA's Pogo.com casual games design team and developed by Bizarre Creations, the developer who brought Project Gotham Racing 3 to the Xbox 360, and fan-favourite Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved to Xbox Live Arcade. The game is scheduled to go live Spring 2007 and is EA's first title on Xbox Live Arcade.
