The Volcano Map Pack for Eidos' action strategy sim title Battlestations: Pacific has been released onto the Xbox Live Marketplace and is now available for purchase and download.
Gamer Limit writes: "Because gamers love nothing better than hot chicks, any promotion material for a title involving scantily clad glamour models is sure to inject nothing but the word "want" into millions of potential customer veins. In turn, this will obviously send hordes of bleary-eyed zombies flocking to their nearest game store to pick up the product in question. That's the mantra of Eidos and and Warner Bros. right now, anyway. They've decided to delve into the completely relevant world of sexy women in order to sell PC and Xbox 360 tactical WWII blaster Battlestations: Pacific."
Battlestations: Pacific offers one of the most authentic gameplay experiences with over 100 air, sea and undersea units to master: fighters, bombers, kamikaze planes and subs, aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines, battleships and more. Each unit is recreated with incredible visual detail and comes complete with a full damage model that brings the battle to life. AA fire can rip planes to pieces, with wings and tails sheering off while carefully placed bombs or shell fire can pierce the hulls of even the largest ships, causing engines to stall, fuel stores to catch fire, magazines to explode and ultimately ships to break apart.
This week's new releases:
WorthPlaying writes: "Battlestations: Pacific features a massive U.S. and Japanese single player campaign that offers a unique blend of action and strategy. Players must plan their moves carefully on huge open-world arenas and fight in the air, above sea and underwater to relive some of the most hard-fought battles in WWII history. This 1.2Gb demo features a complete mission from the US campaign as well as two multiplayer modes playable in single-player Skirmish mode."
A demo for Battlestations: Pacific has been added to the Xbox Live Marketplace and is now available for download.
The latest trailer for Battlestations Pacific showcases the in-game ability to kamikaze other ships. The player can even see the soldiers on the ship before the plane crashes. Is this taking things a little too far?
