Take Two, this just isn't your day. Or year. Despite having the very best intentions with their All-Pro Football 2K8 game (namely given Madden any, competition), things haven't gone too well. Yeah, it looks like the same old NFL2K game, but without the NFL teams it's fallen a little flat. Like, nobody's buying it. Prompting CEO and President Ben Feder to state during a conference call today that:

"We're not terribly pleased and not disappointed. We're watching closely and are going to react proactively when Madden comes out. We know we're in competition with them."
When 2K Sports announced that they were getting back in the football game, the ensuing euphoria was palpable. Obviously, the lack of an NFL license was a problem - for one, it meant the game couldn't use NFL teams or current players. But signing 240 retired NFL gladiators to be in the game would add some legitimacy even without the league's coveted teams, stadiums, and assorted accoutrements. The ghosts of 2K's by-now mythological gridiron classics of yesteryear were going to be reborn on ...
In the simplest of terms, this means that the 360 versions will run smoother and faster, and you'll have an easier time noticing subtle animations.

2K Sports All Pro Football 2K8 has just released a full roster list of NFL legends available in the game via their web site. Due to EA gobbling up the NFL license, this was certainly the next best thing that 2K could offer their loyal fans. It looks as if the boys have been busy as this is quite an extensive list and should provide a a great reference to a players abilities and celebrations (Iggy Shuffle, anyone???).

Is EA getting a bit unsettled again?

Bought the NFL License
Bought the ESPN Licence
Bought the NCAA License
Bought the AFL License
Yet, they still can't keep Greg Thomas and 2K Sports down for long....

Here is the complete list:
