The studio behind Batman: Arkham Origins will add 100 jobs over the next five years, thanks to a grant from the Quebec government. CTV News reports that Warner Bros. Games Montreal will receive a $1.5 million investment from the regional government to expand the studio's workforce from 400 and purchase new equipment.
The grant will go toward a $63 million project planned by the company, which also owns Injustice: Gods Among Us studio NetherRealm, Lego studio TT Games, and a majority stake in Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City studio Rocksteady.
“This Warner Brothers studio here in Montreal only opened three years ago but it is growing rapidly," WB Montreal studio chief Martin Carrier told CTV. "In five years’ time the executives here expect that this studio will be on a par with every other Warner Brothers studio."
The provincial government also agreed to make a $9.9 million contribution to Ubisoft Montreal last week to help add 500 positions to the studio over the next ten years.
