Universal is solidifying a deal to nab the screen rights to Robert Ludlum’s spy thriller The Parsifal Mosaic.
It shouldn’t be a tough job since the studio already has an overall deal with Captivate Entertainment, the company that owns the film rights to Ludlum’s work.
Interestingly, Bourne producer Frank Marshall had indicated that Parsifal might form the basis for Matt Damon's fourth outing.
Now it looks like it'll stand alone.
Parsifal concerns a US spy who believes he sees his KGB double agent lover executed.
But the plot thickens when he later discovers she might be alive, and tries to find her.
Naturally there’s a conspiracy involved (when isn’t there?) and that a shadowy man named Parsifal is behind it all.
