Treyarch handling Wii version of Modern Warfare 3

Not content with making 2010's biggest games in the form of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Treyarch has been confirmed to develop the title Activision hopes will basically sell in quantities that will end the world as we know it, Modern Warfare 3. While Infinity Ward turn out the game proper, Treyarch will be converting the title to Wii, using the experience learned on its previous Wii CoD titles, Modern Warfare Reflex and Black Ops.

Above: Here's how Treyarch did with its last Modern Warfare on Wii

“Treyarch proved that you can have an awesome experience on the Wii with Call of Duty,” Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling told the One of Swords podcast. Well, Treyarch at least proved that you can have an experience on the Wii playing something with “Call of Duty” in the title, but let's not split hairs. With the Wii port of Black Ops having garnered favorable comparisons to other versions (we deemed it decent), it remains to be seen whether Treyarch proves as competent at bringing someone else's content onto the platform as it is porting over its own material. Do you have high hopes for the port?

i have world at war for both the wii and ps3 and i think the wii version is better yeah the wii version doesnt look as good but it isnt like a crazy big diffrence like everyone says it is. i just think the motion controls are much more smooth and enjoyable for aiming than a joystick

@BigKingBud I agree, and if you only have a wii then this is great news, the game will be fine. If however, you have more than one console, which i may be wrongly assuming is most gamers, certainly most fans of CoD anyway, you're still only gonna buy one version of the game and unfortunately it's not gonna be the Wii one. Didn't treyarch do the spiderman web of shadows game that wasn't shit?

I'm glad the wii gets to experience Call of Duty. Good for them!

Are they going to get rid of Treyarch after this? I sure hope not. I'm not a CoD fan, but I don't feel like seeing another studio get thrown under the bus so soon after Bizarre "died"...

Treyarch is better than IW imho, and they should know how to get decent results out of the Wii by now. Plus, if they had any questions they could ask the guys at Eurocom, seeing as they managed to pull of some really awesome looking levels in Goldeneye. Itll be good as all the other CoD Wii games have been, but it wont be the definitive version in any area other than control

"Decent" requires a gamesradar security login when I center click on it. What?

Anyone feel like Treyarch is getting run through the ringer? Sure, they copy MW, but with Black Ops, they did try to do other things. I think they are a developer who works strictly as a gun for hire, who isn't allowed to do their own thing.

The Wii should stick to Mario, Sonic, and that other Nintendo stuff.
