Actually I think at the end of SM: Sunshine Bowser has what could be construed as a "heart-to-heart" with Bowser Jr., letting him know that Peach isn't really his mom. I breathed a sigh of relief. I'd much rather believe that Bowser just lied to his kid to get him to kidnap the princess for him.

Think I will have to hunt down an old copy of Sunshine from eBay and pull the Wii out of the cupboard. I am clearly missing some of the Mario canon.

Its just that peach didnt deny it, so somehow she thought it was possible, i dont know.

Hmmm, I didn't really think about it like that at the time but you're right. You think that she would have seemed a little surprised if someone told her that she had a son with a ten-story tall monster...

What makes the idea of a plumber being the hero even more troubling is the fact that the kingdom is loaded. They a literally so loaded that they just leave their coins floating around in the sky or in boxes that anyone can just walk up and take. Seriously, why don’t they use some of that extra coin on some more heroes or a better defense system for the castle so that they never have any of these kidnapping incidents?

Really, just play the Mario RPGs if you haven't. (Yeah, play the platformers too of course.) If you really want to dig into the Mario lore, the RPGs are the best way to do so, not to mention they're hilarious. Mario's done stuff as disturbing as fighting giant, inter dimensional demon versions of Luigi as well as demon possessed princess Peach. Bowser has almost had an elaborate wedding ceremony with Peach, and Luigi has cross-dressed in attempt to fool Fawful and Cackletta. Mario and Luigi also had to kill Cackletta's soul to get it out of Bowser.

how dumb was Mario - he never figured out that Princess Peach was never home and always was running off and "kidnapped" uh huh - we have a word for girls like that don't we?

well, here we go: in the first place: mario is an italian plumber, in some sort of "imagination land" why is he the only one from a REAL country? bowser kidnapps the princess again and again, because he and peach have a little affair i think. they made this stupid kidnap story and kinda fall into it so they have no other options to excuse why peach was out of her castle. sry 4 bad english, i'll go take some english lessons now, see ya
