I agree with both sides of this argument. From a female perspective, it does get annoying and seemingly a tad sexist when games keep repeating the cliches. Not all females in reality are the same, nor should all females in video games be. However, I also agree that these are just games. As a girl, I wouldn't be nearly as inclined to play a game where the main character was a fat, unattractive slob who tries picking up attractive, skinny girl (*cough* the annoying manager dude out of Tony Hawk Underground *cough*), whereas I'd be there in a heartbeat if the main character, or one of more frequent characters, was a sexy, well built guy with an attractive voice/accent (you see, this is the reason that I like my superheroes and Assassin's Creed ^.^ But the one thing that DOES get me is when people start to believe that everyone is supposed to be like how their sex is portrayed in games. I mean, when guys start to see girls as having to have big boobs and small waists and nothing else, or when girls see guys as having to have a rippling six pack and be shirtless 24/7 (admittedly, that would be nice c; ). I'm just saying, it's understandable why they would do that - it's for the viewer's enjoyment, not a documentary.

WTF? Why do women keep hating on the way they are portrayed in videogames? Theyre not real you know. It takes a real insecure person to be offended by the way whatever group they have placed themselves into is portrayed in a computer program.

Point 11 is just a lie in itself. There are many female game characters that aren't defined by their gender. I could make a big list of them if I wanted, but I'm sure intelligent people know who they are.

You also have to account for the scaling effect. These pirates are not actually... proficient weapons expert. Even the privateers aren't Marine material. These people probably picked up a gun in there early twenties to late thirties. As far as training? They probably just shot some targets every now and then. Pirates don't actually have seemingly unlimited bullets like US soldiers. Even successful pirates/privateers have very limited ammo compared to real soldiers. Also, Jason Brody normally sucks at using weapons, however over time he gets better. this is akin to unlocking the skills. It's assumed that Brody's practice is making him better. I love how people assume that you need weapons training to be a deadly killing machine. You really don't. Kids have gone to school and mowed down entire classrooms before (Tragically). You ever see the instructions for a grenade? Pretty easy, seeing as I could actually buy one for 50 bucks within a day (Not legally of course). Squeeze grenade, pull pin, throw... C4: Place, run, push button. RPG?: Aim, shoot. Sniper?: Aim, allow for distance, shoot. Calibration isn't as difficult as you might assume. I've calibrated scopes for a BB gun, which is, in principal, the same thing. Shoot, calibrate, shoot again, calibrate. Rinse and repeat. (Accidently cut this post off from the last one, this was supposed to be first, then the post below (if viewing from newest first) was suppose to be right after it.)

The crafting is a little insane, but it's assumed he's picking up these skills from the villagers overtime. As a bit of a time frame to reference, his friends repaired a crashed ship and escaped. They were probably there for months. Although it actually only felt like days. Not to mention Jason's previous experience as a rich kid adrenaline junkie. Plus, as someone already pointed out, he's American. That may not seem like much, but Americans are far more accustomed to violence compared to other developed countries. Him making this leap is too unbelievable. Well, the last choice, yes, that is too unbelievable. But hell, this guy doesn't even know how to go prone, so, he's not entirely pro lol.

Well, as you can read it in the handbook of people Jason Brody is anthelete, parasailer, skydiver, mountainclimber, snowboarder and American. Most americans can handle weapons and it seems realistic for me that you didn't need any instructions and you just got your licence for skydiving.
