Original version of State of Decay was 'full of genitalia'

If you thought that leaving lewd drawings hidden around the flat you’re moving out of was risky then State of Decay’s hired help took things to a whole new level. Indie devs Undead Labs needed some extra work doing on the zombie survival fest for its original release in 2013 but it turned out that their spunky contractors “worked a ridiculous amount of genitalia into the background.” State of Decay? More like State of Dick, eh?

Speaking to XBLA Fans at PAX East, Undead Labs Senior Designer Geoffrey Card admitted that the penises couldn’t be seen in the original release due to the resolution so actually made it into the final game. It was only when the devs started increasing the resolution for the new-gen, Year One edition that the problems, err, arose. Once spotted, Undead removed all phalluses from the game so there’s no evidence to be found.

Microsoft has confirmed this with an official release to Game Informer stating that “Undead Labs was not aware of the textures in question until they began the process of exporting textures for State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition, and they are not visible in the original edition of State of Decay. Undead Labs is no longer working with the contractor in question, and this material will not be present in State of Decay: Year-One Survival Edition.”
