Spider-Man shows off his moves

Back in 2004, the Spider-Man 2 video game impressed us with its amazing web-slinging controls. The game did a great job of making us feel like we were swinging through the New York skyline propelled via strings of webbing. Since then many Spider-Man games have released on various platforms, but none could quite capture the magic of Spider-Man 2.

Well, Amazing Spider-Man might be the magic bullet needed to get us back in the Spidey-swinging grove. This trailer features a few shots of the Lizard and some thugs, but what really gets our blood irradiated with mutant-spider venom is all the high-flying swinging that is going on. The wall-crawler seems like he will get pretty acrobatic as he grabs a dumpster while jumping into the air and  then kicks it back to the ground.

Check out the playground trailer below:

Well, considering Beenox's track record, you'll forgive me for being skeptical. Although I admit the trailer looks cool. I'd like to see some actual gameplay and continuous combat and web swinging to judge how good it actually looks and moves. The dubstep background song is shit though. I really wish they stopped using dubstep for trailers so damn often.

The gameplay shown at E3 looks like it was made 5 years ago.

I wanted this to do well for so long that it feels like I'm the only one of my friends that is excited for this. Really hope this does well...

AHA! My main question about this was whether, like the last games, it was going to feature multiple enemies from the comics, or whether it was going going to focus on just Lizard, but the brief shot of Rhino charging answers that for me. The webslinging does look good- the physics for the webs looks great- and some of the attacks look really stylish, like picking up dumpsters and throwing them around. But, like BladedFalcon, I REALLY wish Dubstep didn't keep encroaching on Gaming. Seriously, more people should do a Platinum and have heavy rock/metal in the trailers, like Revengeance did.

Personally I find buttrock to be just as annnoying in my trailers... but eh.. I don't watch to hear the music.

The gameplay i've seen of this does look pretty fun, so here's hoping it turns out to be good. The design of the Rhino is pretty cool too, much better than the movie Lizard design

I'm hopeful for this game, but not much else. I really hope Beenox does a good job. Also, Dubstep? Really? Activision, you won't ever be considered "cool," please stop trying.
