RadioRadar spoilercast: Beyond: Two Souls

Ask a fellow gamer what he or she thinks of Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls, and you'll likely hear that it's the most important, forward-thinking game of the generation, or that it's garbage. A few might even land somewhere in between. In any case, its an ambitious project that's worth some discussion--and what better way to discuss than on a very super special spoilercast! Of course, don't listen unless you've played through the game, or if you don't mind us ruining every single thing in it that makes it worth playing.

Hosts: Ryan Taljonick, Sophia Tong, Lucas Sullivan, Anthony Snyder, Zach Betka

Here's a thought: what if Nathan sent Jody to the birthday party knowing she'd be ostracized? It's clear from the "Like other girls" chapter that Nathan wants her to be isolated to a degree, perhaps in a fatherly protective way, but also to further his own agenda in terms of his research. Why else would he send her to a party of older teenagers with classical literature to give as a birthday present? And then, after Jody takes revenge (even setting the house on fire in some cases), Nathan doesn't seem upset, almost like he felt bad for Jody but was also hoping this would happen. As a result, Jody becomes more antisocial with her peers, and much closer to Nathan (who lost a daughter), tethering her to him and his research. What got to me in the end was finding out Aiden was Jody's twin brother, and realizing all those times I thought he was a badass vengeful demigod, he was actually just as innocent, scared, and confused as Jody was.

I agree that high school party, was ridiculous and it brought back a bad memory for me. Stupid punks. Excellent podcast guys, will there be one for Batman Arkham Origins?

Even if there isn't I'm sure Henry will share his thoughts about it on his Comic Book podcast, Cape Crisis. Hopefully you're already a fan of the lasertime podcast network though :)

Awesome podcast guys! I really enjoyed this game a lot. I didn't think the Navajo section was bad, although the romance with Jay definitely felt forced. I thought one of the main points of that section was to show that in the "beyond" world, there's not just souls, there's monsters as well that were never alive in our world. Like, really big scary monsters. And they needed lots of monsters to set up the apocalypse/ doomsday ending for the sequel ;)
