WHY THE HELL IS EVERYONE LEAVING? GAMESRADAR IS GONNA DIE
  • DragonLord23 - June 26, 2014 5:54 p.m.

QOTW: Zelda Ocarina of TIme for the N64, Zelda Wind Waker for the Gamecube, Zelda Twilight Princess for the Wii, Zelda Ocarina HD for the 3DS, Zelda Wind Waker HD for the Wii U. Glad I kept a pattern.

    Nice pattern

QOTW: 2009 -2010 was nearly gaming's darkest moment. Nintendo had recently bragged about how they were solving the problem music games had where you actually had to play the right note at the right time by letting you hit buttons randomly without any consequence. They were pleased to announce that they were adding a feature that would let the Wii play games for you in case rocking a baby in Babysitting Mama was too difficult. Microsoft, meanwhile, was trying to convince us that the future of gaming was somewhere between pointless uncanny valley conversations with a creepy pretend boy and flailing your arms around wildly to pop virtual balloons. Now, I had long been an Xbox 360 fan so I was going to require a lot of convincing to buy an evil Playstation 3. Then I heard about a game called "Demon's Souls," a game that actually required skill and concentration, the exact antithesis of the modern gaming principles set out by Microsoft and Nintendo. I finally caved and bought a PS3 solely to play Demon's Souls and it was everything I could ever want it to be. It was a such a beautiful "Fuck you" to the dumb-down-for-dumb-people trend and was challenging without being unfair. Of course, I eventually played the other PS3 exclusives but I would've considered it worth having paid $330 just for Demon's Souls.

QOTW: I didn't own an original xbox but I played the hell out of halo combat evolved on PC. Thus, while I loved my gamecube and Ps2, and didn't really care for any of the other exclusives on 360, when it came time to upgrade I chose the 360. This was a few months before halo 3 came out so the first game I bought was a used copy of halo 2 so that I could catch up on the series

I was a longtime listener of TalkRadar, and been listening to RadioRadar from Day 1. Coop, you've been a fantastic host for RadioRadar, and have done an excellent job. Good luck! You'll be missed! QOTY: A couple years ago during winter break, I was in a videogame deadzone: I had absolutely nothing new to play. In a desperate move, I downloaded Persona 3 FES on PS3 for dirt cheap despite knowing very little about it. Roughly eight hours into P3, I rushed out the door to my local game store to buy a Vita and then sprinted across the street to the competing Gamestop to pick up the only copy of Persona 4 Golden in the city. I had absolutely no intention of owning a Vita, but after playing P3 for some time, I instantly knew I had to own one to play the updated P4 port, which I heard just released about a month earlier. Didn't even open my Vita to play P4G until after I beat P3 though, so it sat untouched for about a week. When I finally did, I loved every second of P4G, and to this day have almost never used my Vita since. I have no regrets about my purchase, and have lent out my Vita and copy of P4G to people on four separate occasions because I wanted friends to play it and love it like I did. Three of these friends bought Vitas afterwards.

I haven't been a listener for too long, but i have to say I'll miss hearing Coop on the show, good luck at EA. QOTW: My future wife took off to live in Italy for a year just after grad and a buddy of mine delivered a package to me in a garbage bag of all things. It was his Xbox with Halo 2. I must have run through that campaign 2-3 times in the first month of having it. After a while, I gave it back, in the very same bag, and went and picked up my own. I was a Playstation guy up until then, that game/series turned the tide pretty quickly.

Infamous for the PS3. After playing the Sly cooper series in whole in a friends PS2 whenever he came over, I was anticipating what they came up with next and when I saw it was basically a super hero game, I couldn't wait to get it but with a Wii and a 360, there was a lot of resistence to get it but once reviews came out, I rushed out to grab a ps3! Also Little Big Planet helped a bunch.

Started off hating you on Talkradar Coop, you definitely felt like "the new guy" desperately shitting on games and companies to get laughs to compete with the Tdar pros, but being host of RadioRadar matured you to godlike proportions and now I love you (sniff). You'll be missed! And, er, please try to get the last main DLC for Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age 2 on to Origin please! :) QOTW: I always have a rule that no one game can sway me on a console choice, there has to be at least ten games (out or announced) I know I'll definitely buy for it. That said, you'll be surprised when I say Transformers for PS2. I had a PC, an Xbox, a GameCube, and I generally dislike most of the PS2 exclusives, so I thought I was happy. Then when Transformers (the one based on the Armada series) became an exclusive and, worse, was great, I had to have one. It's currently the only game on PS2 I ever completed. Still, at least I know for sure now that I hate God of War!

Sad times, we enjoyed having you on the podcast and kind of reinventing it. I'll miss your editorials and also the Smash Bros weekly. Good luck with the new job, maybe you could make a special appearance for the 100th show? Henry stop hating on 'soccer', it's a world cup and your team is actually doing pretty well. Yes I will agree though that most people over here in Ingerland use it as an excuse to drink and shout at a television. The game that made me get on to a new platform was Monaco WYIM on Steam. I've had xboxs [plural for a reason] since 2007 and already had a normal desktop for years but the thought of free multiplayer on pc made me take the jump. I think it was the right choice too, the Steam version sold well and was supported with free DLC for about a year. I also got to know the joy and pain of a Steam sale first hand. So many games, so little time.

It was definitely Halo: Combat Evolved. I had no intention of buying an XBOX but after about a year of hearing how great Halo was, I had to have it! I didn't regret it at all. The original XBOX was a great system.

    1. last week's list of 7 was flawed. Xbox not only announced Gears of War wouldn't be at E3, they also announced it would be at Gamescom. You guys really need to pay better attention to what's going on. 2. to answer the question of the week.... I bought a ps3 just for The Last of Us, which after playing TLOU I immediately regretted. the trailer for the game was great. the idea of the game was great. the opening sequence was one of the greatest openings to a video game ever. problem was, the game itself was boring. the mechanics were shotty, the story was weak, and I found myself pretty bored. it's always said how great Naughty Dog is and how they are innovative and push games to their limits. there was nothing innovative about TLOU. it was just a an overhyped letdown.
  • SpadesSlick - June 22, 2014 10:48 p.m.

Kingdom Heart's obnoxious habit of making you have to own literally every console in order to follow the story is what made me buy a PSP solely for the purpose of playing Birth By Sleep. I didn't really use my PSP for anything else except to emulate SNES games and the Disgaea ports, but I don't really regret it as BBS was by far my favorite game in the series.
  • dizzzydragon - June 22, 2014 3:13 p.m.

Question of the WEEK! After owning a PSP and never really liking it, I swore never again shall i buy a non-Nintendo handheld! That was until i started to listen to radioRadar... The radioradar crew had already convinced me to throw my money away on magic cards and now they promised a call Persona 4 Golden to be the best handheld game ever! I had never played persona before, but i liked RPGs and anime, and with that logic the $300 practically flew out of my wallet. Persona is still the only game i have really played on the vita, i don't regret it. Coop you will be missed!

Great episode guys. I shared my sadness on Twitter already, later Coop you glorious host ;_:7 Since your gonna be at EA, how about getting all nice and all with Popcap and get them to keep supporting Garden Warfare? QOTW: During 7th gen, having already owned the Wii and had my fill of Wii Sports, me and my brother knew we had to buy another console to fill out Multigamer status. Because we previously owned a PS2 along with a Gamecube, we were close to buying a PS3....then.....IT happened. The Trailer for Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts has been revealed and due to Rare studio memories, i had to run out and choose the 360 over the PS3, especially given that teaser trailer back in 2006 that "BANJO WAS BACK". and guess what?........I dont regret it, as much shit as Nuts and Bolts gets for not being a true Banjo-Kazooie game, it was still a very enjoyable game for me. Same experience with my Xbox One, Killer Instinct was definitely worth it and my wait for Garden Warfare even more.
  • supergiraffe - June 21, 2014 9:56 p.m.

Mine was pretty recent to be honest, I got a PS3 to play The Last of Us. I've lucked out and been pretty happy with whatever systems I've had, but the PS3 built up some sweet exclusives, and Last of Us came out at just the right time for me to finally cave. I recently dropped out of school because I didn't like my major, and got a full time job while I figured out what I wanted to do, and all this income, coupled with me still living at home, made the system totally worth getting.
  • samiamJack - June 21, 2014 8:36 p.m.

Damn. You will be greatly missed Coop, I wish you all the best at EA and wherever else your career takes you. I just hope this isn't the start of another mass exodus like the one that ended Tdar. In Henry we trust!
  • EAC73 - June 21, 2014 3:28 p.m.

It was my brother, but PS Plus and the Last of Us made him buy a PS3 a couple months back actually. Since the PS4 was already out, he was able to get a great deal, It was the PS3 Super Slim, The Last of Us, Batman Arkham Origins, and a year of PS Plus for around $300.
  • GLuna46 - June 21, 2014 12:43 p.m.
