I'm a fan of all platforms, I love the PS, Xbox and the PC and see no reason why I should side with any of them and miss out on all those wonderful games out there.

^ I love them to differing extents, but discounting a platform just for being something different is just denying yourself new experiences, and pretty damn foolish.

    Interesting read.

Faboyism is an extention of human nature, at least up to a certain point. As part of the heuristics built into us we are pre-programmed to absorb information that coincides with our opinions, surround ourselves with like-minded people and then, as Dr. Clark points out, respond to criticism with bullying and counter-criticisms. According to the Elaboration Likelihood Model proposed by Richard Petty, the governing theory in Social Cogntion psychology about how people handle persuasion, you become numb to logic if it isn't in your interest to pay attention to it. Mix that with the meanness that comes with anonymity of the internet and BAM: We've got a scientific formula for how fanboyism is here to stay and kind of is a side effect of how we operate as humans. Now isn't that depressing?

this is why i avoid consoles...and video games altogether....the real debate is Chess vs Checkers.... and if anybody says checkers is better than chess has been bought off by the international checkers cartel founded by Lord Reginald Checkersly after 15 years of frustration trying to learn how to properly play chess.... go ahead fanboys prove me wrong.
  • treeroy - November 25, 2013 9:27 a.m.

That's kind of different, it's much more objective. Chess is unquestionably more complex than chequers
  • TokenGamesRadarFurry - November 25, 2013 9:27 a.m.

Lord Reginald Checkersly? More like BORED Reginald Failersly! Checkers is for babies. Same goes with chess. Everybody knows hopscotch is the REAL mans game. It's so street.

Well this is a good though provoking piece, all I have to say fanboys are fine because in a way they keep each company on their feet because they want to deliver the best to their users
