Don Mattrick is gone

Don Mattrick is gone

A few days ago, Don Mattrick was king of the castle over at Xbox headquarters. As Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business President (AKA LONGEST TITLE EVER), he oversaw everything that went into the Xbox One. He was held responsible for the 24-hour check-ins and the used game blocking, as well as the decision to reverse the 24-hour check-ins and used game blocking. He had a rough month.

So rough, in fact, that he is out. Today it was revealed that Don was jumping ship to Zynga, casual game company known for Farmville, Mafia Wars, and every other thing you get nonstop invitations to on Facebook (other than Candy Crush Saga). He's done with this "hardcore gamer" nonsense. In his place is... someone. We don't know who yet, but we do have some friendly advice for whoever sits on the iron throne that we assume is in his massive office.

So far there's been no replacement named for Don, but we bet Microsoft is going to act fast to get someone to oversee its new console launch. As of now, Steve Ballmer is handling Mattrick's responsibilities, but he has bigger things to do than to babysit us as we cry about launch titles and release dates. Do you have any advice for Mattrick's replacement? Put them in the comments, below!

And if you're looking for more, check out 8 ways it could be worse for Don Mattrick and why PS4's online is worth paying for.
