"While this prequel wasn’t as gripping, either narratively or mechanically, as Liberty" i'm gonna have to disagree there. MGS3 ran laps around MGS2 in every way that mattered imo. MGS2's story was actually one of its weaker aspects for me, whereas the story of big boss and his mentor affected me in an emotional way that few games have ever matched, or even come close to, really. that said, anyone who missed out on these games really owes it to themselves to pick them up when they've tired of this season's cornucopia of gaming greatness.

Agreed. MGS2 nearly put me off the whole damn franchise. It was Snake Eater that put me back on.

I'd think about buying this if it had the Gamecube remake of Solid. But that was a Ninty exclusive. Mrrrh :/

I have all three games(their regular editions not the Substance ones)but I will buy the HD Collection next year when comes out in Europe.

"That said, this is hardly complete, as some extras from those special editions are annoyingly MIA. Eater, for instance, is missing the competitive online modes included in the Subsistence edition, an omission aggravated by the fact that those same kinds of modes are also missing from Peace Walker." That is an outright lie. There is in fact online-enabled co-op and versus gameplay for Peace Walker. 1. Snake Eater 2. Peace Walker 3. Sons of Liberty
