I bet nintendo will announce exclusive Wii U characters for it and then it'll sell by the millions. I would lik to see Sonic in Mario Kart though, wishful thinking though.

Wouldn't they all be Wii U exclusive as this is a Wii U game?

The reason Mario Kart Wii sold a crap-ton of copies is because everyone already owned a Wii, and every Wii owner got the game. It's a totally different scenario with Wii U, so they need to approach this thing differently. They better advertise the heck out of it everywhere and really show that it's a major update and even more fun than Mario Kart Wii to get all those casual crowds to buy a whole new system for it. And I'm just not sure that complicating the formula with gimmicky gravity controls is the way to do that. Families play it because it's simple, straight-up fun, like a board game.

How the fuck is gravity complicating the formula? Its still the same fucking game.

Yippee! Mario Kart is the number one prevention of me ever becoming a proper adult.

A May release is great, but will it come out before or after my finals? (Actually, what do I care, I'll just wait a week like I did for MK7.) Also, all I need is the Smash release date and I will finally be able to breathe easy.

Damn straight, Nintendo, bring the pain! Not enough to get me to buy a WiiU, but still can't wait to play it! Announce Pokemon Snap 2 or a decent Pokemon RPG and that WiiU will have a pedestal in my living room, i tell ya what.

Pokemon Snap U isnt far off, they announced in the meeting that they are gonna put heavy work on games to utilize the Gamepad. Also DS Virtual Console for Wii U and their IP's to be more flexible, they are planning to work with external developers to push out different games more and something about a unified account to combine the Nintendo ID's to a point where the 3DS and Wii U user bases wont be 2 seperate things.

The tech. Behind the gamepad is just too perfectly in tune with the action of photography, it would be a huge waste to overlook it. Can you imagine augmented reality pokemon snap, fatal frame, or any photography based game? It makes me male-wet, whatever the male equivalent to female wetness is... Not quite a boner, but close.

Quality of execution is key; Virtual Console has developed at a snail pace and that's not counting the lack of GBA and N64 games. Being flexible with third parties is nice but Nintendo is hoping developers come instead of them looking for the talent. (A Bungie made Metroid, Platinum's Star Fox or Ubisoft's F-Zero will not happen and/or not be ok if Nintendo doesn't look for the talent). I'm really hoping unified accounts happen soon, they kind of teased they'll be making plans to add more relation between Wii U and 3DS.
  • shawksta - January 29, 2014 9:53 p.m.

Yeah, they have to move it themselves and frankly i dont think they'll expect others to come to them when they said they are negotiating. So hopefully its the form of THEM looking. Its already good enough that Platinum otherwise wants to be Second Party to them. Ubisoft for F-Zero? I dont know, maybe Sega should come back since they made GX

Mario Kart 8 still not dated? Looks pretty dated to me! Fnar fnar fnar (JOKE! You know I gave Mario Kart 7 a perfect score. I just couldn't resist. Sorry!)
  • GR HollanderCooper - December 19, 2013 9:38 a.m.

    omg stop please
  • Vonter - December 19, 2013 6:18 p.m.

Dated modes I agree. Hope there more new things than only bringing the 7's mechanics.
  • Swedish_Chef - December 19, 2013 12:35 a.m.

God I hope they put Waluigi Pinball in this game, I need a HD version of that stage in my life.
  • brickman409 - January 29, 2014 6:02 p.m.

    I agree

Who got anal blasted for disturbing Rainbow Road
  • Shayz - December 18, 2013 8:37 p.m.

MK Wii was the only MK game I never bought simply because of the stupid flips and bikes and weird controls. MK7 showed that nintendo still knows how to make a proper MK game, and 8 will hopefully be the best so far as long as I can use the pro controller.
  • J-Fid - December 18, 2013 7:30 p.m.

This and SSB4 will turn my Wii U from a paperweight into a heavyweight! Can't wait!

Dat trailer showed Gusty Garden Galaxy as a racetrack Nice to see Nintendo acknowledge that Gusty Garden Galaxy is one of the best places in Galaxy and music wise.
