Psst. That Assassin's Creed III. Exciting isn't it? Want to see some exciting new images from it? How about some exciting new images that are made even more exciting by the fact that you very probably aren't supposed to see them yet? Well if that's the sort of exciting you're after, give thanks to All Games Beta . They appear to have got hold of a handful. Not only do they show a white-robe-clad assassin looking slightly out of place in various American Revolution era settings, they also feature three completely different types of weather.

Which three types of weather? THESE three types of weather!

So, Assassin's Creed III definitely has weather then. But is it the weather you were expecting?

Happy to see there will be weather; I thought the day/night cycles in ACII were a nice touch, and I was hoping Brotherhood and Revelations would improve on it by adding weather (I was a tad disappointed that wasn't the case). Looking forward to hunting; one of my favorite things to do RDR was to just wander around Tall Trees and hunt whatever animal I came across. Maybe in ACIII, we can harvest the animal parts for stuff like better gear or something.

I personally wonder how they will deal with the Loyalists in this game, if they do at all. If they portray the British as Templars, I think it may be too black and white of a depiction of a period that was anything but. Additionally, the Templars are in control of the US government in the modern period so it would make sense to offer a bit of ambiguity between each side. Eh, there's not enough information at this point to make any real conclusions about such things, though...

I was wondering about where "Tall buildings" and "bustling cities" in a Ass Creed game were going to come into play. London will take care of that.

Or how about Boston, NYC, New Haven, New London, Philadelphia, Charleston, Williamsburg, etc, etc. All of these cities were pretty well built up in this time and could provide plenty of moments to climb tall Congregational Churches, meeting houses, mansions, etc.

That freakin tomahawk, jesus that is just awesome. He's about to go "The Patriot" on his ass

You missed a 5th screen, which I think was the most important. It shows the new guy in a tree, waiting to ambush some trappers. That means that we'll finally be able to climb trees.

I suffered from Assassin's Creed fatigue recently, and I still haven't brought myself to beat AC: Brotherhood (despite Assassin's Creed II ranking as one of the beset games I've ever played). Looks like I'll HAVE to finish that and Revelations before this comes out. It's looking fantastic.

In the 2nd pic, he'd better aim small and miss small

yeah I thought that too when I saw, they totally stole the game idea from The Patriot with Mel Gibson, but I am totally ok with that.

    Where's Talkradar?

The first one is the only one that I can believe is a screenshot. The other ones just look too doctored somehow. Like they're high res paintings.

They all look good to me. The series has always been a looker, and their engine has only gotten better.

3 and 4 look totally like concept art. Especially #3, they guy in the overcoat looks out of place from the background.

AWESOME I only have one concern, considering the time and place, where exactly is the new assassin gonna Dive off of? Mountains sure, but cmon...., who knows, the houses might actually be tall.

The hood kinda let him fit in in the first game, but it sticks out a bit in late 18th century America. Also, the guy in the third picture might be George Washington.
  • Jesse1066 - March 2, 2012 2:25 p.m.

    Nope, just somebody else.
  • patbateman17 - March 2, 2012 10:19 a.m.

Yup, I was totally wrong - this looks awesome and has free-running in bug buildings, mountains (freaking mountains!) and huge trees. My faith restored in this series. Thank you Ubi for making me eat my words, told you I'd do it gladly :)
