Kevin Costner could join Tarantino’s Django Unchained

django unchained

Kevin Costner is the latest A-list name to be associated with Quentin Tarantino’s next film, Django Unchained.

Being pitched as a ‘Southern’, Django plays with the tropes of Westerns in a story about a freed slave (Jamie Foxx) who attempts to save his wife from an evil plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).

According to Deadline , Costner would play Ace Woody, the evil sonofabitch who’s responsible for training slaves to fight in amusement park Candyland.

Costner’s not struck a deal yet, but he’s clearly interested in working with Tarantino for the first time. And with a character like that, he’d definitely have something to sink his teeth into.

Next up, Costner is playing Clark Kent’s father Jonathan in Zack Snyder’s Man Of Steel.

Django Unchained opens 25 December 2012.
