It’s always encouraging when Jeff Bridges agrees to be the solid thesping core in any drama and writer/director Michael Meredith has cast him to be just that alongside Justin Timberlake and Mary Steenburgen in The Open Road.
Meredith’s script finds a young man (Timberlake) attempting to reconcile with his famous athlete pop (Bridges) and trying to get him home to his mother’s (Steenburgen) bedside before she dies.
Wim Wenders is apparently aboard as “visual consultant”,
according to Variety’s story
. We’ll leave it up to you to decide what that means.
