Bret Hart to make SmackDown! debut

THQ have just announced the full roster for forthcoming PS2 scrapper WWE SmackDown! vs Raw - and the game will mark the first time grapple legend Bret 'Hitman' Hart makes an appearance in the SmackDown! series. Hart hasn't appeared in the WWE (or WWF as it was then called) since the infamous Survivor Series double-cross in 1997.

The roster also features 41 current wrestlers, eight more 'legends' characters (including Mankind, 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper and the Road Warriors) and a smattering of non-playable characters.

Meanwhile, an early version of the game that we saw featured 'British Bulldog' Davey Boy Smith although he has since been removed, as has the recently-fired Rikishi. However, it appears as if Sable - who has also just been dropped by WWE - will remain on the final roster.

Finally, we have a handful of new shots of the game, which can be seen on the right, and a new Quicktime teaser trailer, which you can download by (be warned though - it's a whopping 56MB).

That roster in full then:
