Blu-ray films get PSP playback

Jan 8, 2008

UMD films are rubbish because you can only play them on PSP - but that won't matter anymore because Sony has revealed plans to include PSP playback support in future Blu-ray titles.

Select Blu-ray films due for released in 2008 will come with a second PSP-formatted version of the film on the same disc.

Owners of both consoles will simply be able to link their machines wirelessly and copy the smaller version to their portable, allowing for viewing on the move.

Compatible titles are yet to be announced, but it's a brilliant idea, particularly if programmes on Blu-ray support the feature. That way you could watch Heroes ALL DAY.
