Once Disney confirmed that Doctor Strange would appear in Thor: Ragnarok, the minds of Marvel Cinematic Universe fans turned squarely to the magical possibilities. What kind of mayhem could unfold if the new sorcerer went toe-to-toe with the master of deception and illusion himself, Loki? Tom Hiddleston (who plays Loki) kept most of his tricks up his sleeve about a potential meeting between the two characters in an interview with MTV News, but he did give us a general direction to consider.
"Doctor Strange has very intensely cerebral, time-bending powers, Hiddleston noted. "At the end of Thor: The Dark World [spoiler warning], Loki's on the throne. What happened to Odin? So maybe Doctor Strange has to help out with that particular conundrum."
That still doesn't mean there will be a direct confrontation between Strange and Loki - perhaps Thor enlists Strange's help to unravel some dimension-warping mysteries then sets off to face his brother in a stand-up fight. Though it's never really a stand-up fight with Loki. Better to keep Doctor Strange on standby, like a tag-team match in Marvel vs. Capcom, in my humble opinion. You've really gotta watch out for Loki's mix-ups.
Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, Karl Urban, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Ruffalo, Thor: Ragnarok will be released in UK cinemas on October 27, 2017 before opening in US theatres on November 3, 2017.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar.
