Anarchy Reigns out January 8 in N. America, January 11 elsewhere

Anarchy Reigns, the oft-delayed online brawler from Bayonetta developer Platinum Games, finally has a solid release date. Sega announced today that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 title will arrive on January 8, 2013 in North America and January 11 in Europe.

Anarchy Reigns serves up a heaping helping of Platinum's signature frenetic action, and is a pseudo-sequel to the critically lauded but commercially unsuccessful Wii exclusive MadWorld. The game features several competitive and cooperative online multiplayer modes, as well as multiple single-player campaigns in an open world.

Originally slated for a Fall 2011 release, Anarchy Reigns' launch suffered multiple setbacks as Sega struggled to steady its company-wide trajectory. The game launched in July in Japan and has been finished but left without a release date since May.

*Facepalms* Seriously Sega? You had the fucking game ready since July, the driest, most competition FREE month of the year, and you decide to release it smack dab in what's gonna be the most hectic season of next year? It's almost as if you WANT it to fail >_>

For some reason, GamesRadar is neglecting to mention the $30 price point. I think it'll sell pretty well.

About. Damn. Time. Let's hope we get Bayonetta as a playable character like Japan did.

I was just about to say. It'd be nice if they included her as a character in all editions just to apologise for us all having to wait.
