Though it was announced back in April, Spicy Horse (the studio that American McGee heads) has not said much about its upcoming free-to-play action RPG, Akaneiro, until today. As detailed in the video below, it's a reimagining of the story of Little Red Riding Hood, except its set in feudal Japan. Also there are more swords than we remember in the children's tale.
You may remember American McGee as the developer behind Alice: Madness Returns as well as the 2004's Scrapland. We don't yet have a release date handy, but we do know that the game will feature 24 levels of ancient Japanese demon-slicing, and a watercolor aesthetic reminiscent of a darker-hued Okami.
