Zombies, Monsters, Robots

So there are zombies. There are monsters. There are robots. And you can shoot them all in En Masse Entertainments new free-to-play PC shooter, ZMR (guess what the letters stand for). At GDC 2014, En Masse confirmed itd be expanding its horizons beyond its action-focused MMORPG Tera by bringing Yingpei Entertainments online game to the West.

ZMR can most succinctly be described as Call of Duty: Zombies gone wild. Its bread-and-butter is PVE-oriented Horde mode gameplay, where a team of mercenaries (up to eight), fend off waves of the aforementioned. In fact, the core gameplay pulls quite liberally from Activisions juggernaut, as youll find yourself unlocking new weapons and areas by accruing points from killing enemies. Youll even board up windows. That said, Yingpei is taking that mode and running with it. The developer promises some 60 maps across PVE and PVP modes, and Yingpei expects to roll out new modes and maps on a monthly basis. Its also worth noting that Yingpei was formerly known as Epic Games China, and that Unreal connection has resulted in game mechanics like active reload and a cover system.

Though it was not discussed in detail, ZMR will also feature a PVE campaign mode--one that culminates in what the publisher touted as impressive boss fights. These fights range from highly stylized creatures that fall within the zombie/monster/robot spectrum, ranging from giants mechs to mysterious undead pharaohs to freaky swamp monsters. The game, which is already available in the East, will begin its Western alpha-testing phase come April. En Masse expects to open the game up in an early access capacity come May, with a full launch slated for early summer.

Read on for more information and additional images of ZMR.
