Can the best Castlevania get better?

Some love it. Some hate it. Some just can't stop quoting it. Everyone, however, can agree that the voice acting in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is perhaps the most memorable in videogame history. After all, what is a man, but a miserable little pile of secrets? And so forth...

That could all change when Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is released for PSP in October. The compilation title comes packed not only with the original and enhanced versions of Rondo of Blood (seeing US shores for the first time), but an enhanced edition of Symphony of the Night.

We've already seen that game's improved graphics on Xbox Live Arcade, but series creator Koji Igarashi is working on other content for the PSP. While most of that has yet to be revealed, we now know that all of the voice acting is being recast and rerecorded for The Dracula X Chronicles. Will this perfect the original's one and only flaw? Or will you miss the sound of bored interns reading poorly typed scripts in an echoing warehouse?

In addition, the game will include a music playlist editor that will enable you to create your own custom soundtrack from either Rondo of Blood or Symphony of the Night's scores. If you want to mix and match so that you're playing one game while listening to the other, you can. Neat.
