Bryan Singer remaking Excalibur?

Warners and Bryan Singer must still want to work together despite the trouble with Superman - the company has locked in a deal for him to develop a remake of Excalibur.

The 1981 original, directed and co-written by John Boorman was an OTT take on the King Arthur story, with all the trappings - Merlin, the Knights of the Roundtable and the.

It starred the likes of Helen Mirren, Patrick Stewart and Ciaran Hinds and is something of a cult favourite.

However, the remake doesn't have a writer attached yet - and even if it does suit up, it'll have to wait behind several other projects, including Singer's most likely next job, a take on Jack And The Beanstalk called Jack The Giant Killer.

Oh, and there's that Battlestar Galactica movie he's signed on to figure out. But we'll have to wait and see on that one...
