Trademark suggests the name for Star Wars 8 is 'Forces of Destiny'. Maybe.

Set your rifles to "skeptical," because a recently-filed trademark from Lucasfilm has been uncovered, and it might be the title to Star Wars 8 (opens in new tab). Website AVSForum (opens in new tab) spotted a trademark for something called "Forces of Destiny" on the website for the European Union Intellectual Property Office (opens in new tab), and the extensive list of items it applies to (including toys, clothing, office supplies and yes, a motion picture) suggests it could be related to next year's film.

That being said, Star Wars is a massive franchise and "Forces of Destiny" could refer to any number of things. Hell, there's a tabletop roleplaying game called "Force and Destiny" (emphasis mine) that you can probably pick up right now from your local nerd store. Plus, the development of Star Wars films is notoriously secretive; Return of the Jedi was filmed under the code name "Blue Harvest," and The Force Awakens was hidden behind the name "Foodles." So spotting Episode VIII's title this easily seems like it might be…

Yeah, that. We'll be sure to let you know the moment we find out more.
