Need last-minute presents for gamers? These Lego sets are perfect, and they just got a big discount
Adorable Animal Crossing kits are enjoying a Christmas price cut
It can be tough finding last-minute presents for gamers, but thankfully Lego has done us all a solid and slashed the price of some rather lovely Animal Crossing kits that'd make for excellent gifts.
As part of its Christmas sale, the brick-builders from Billund have reduced costs on a variety of kits by up to 50% at the Lego store. While a few offers caught my eye (like the droid-focused Star Wars advent calendar at a fraction of the normal price, meaning you can get ahead of next year's festive period), the Animal Crossing discounts fully seized my attention. More specifically, Bunnie's Outdoor Activities is a very sweet but affordable kit that makes the perfect last-minute gift or stocking filler... and it's currently £10.79 at Lego instead of the usual £18. Similarly, the more impressive Town Hall model is also reduced - providing you with a centrepiece for a lot less than normal. That's better value than we often see for the best Lego sets.
Lego Bunnie's Outdoor Activities | £17.99 £10.79 at Lego
Save £7.20 - This small but very sweet model is a great all-ages present, because it can be displayed as a diorama or a shelf or added to a child's toybox. That's a lot better than the average cost too, with the normal price being much closer to £15.30 or thereabouts.
Buy it if:
✅ You want a small and easy kit
✅ You need a Secret Santa or stocking filler
Don't buy it if:
❌ Your loved one hates cute things and fun
Lego K.K's Concert at the Plaza | £69.99 £48.99 at Lego
Save £21 - Because this is a bigger kit, it tracks that it'd get a bigger discount. The Town Hall is a staple for all Animal Crossing islands, and this one adds two of the most iconic characters in the series for good measure (K.K. Slider and Isabelle).
Buy it if:
✅ You want a centrepiece
✅ Your loved one has an AC collection already
Don't buy it if:
❌ You're expecting a full-size replica
As noted in our Lego Bunnie's Outdoor Activities review, "if you're unsure of whether you want to commit to Lego Animal Crossing or if you are hunting down a playset for your kids, Lego Bunnie's Outdoor Activities is ideal. It's a quick, straightforward build that's overflowing with charm." Personally, I love how well it captures the feel of your randomly-generated islands in the game - exploring its waterfalls and woodlands while tracking down bugs, fruit, fish, or other collectibles is a huge part of the appeal for me.
Plus, that even more affordable price as a result of the Christmas sale just adds to the bargain; we're getting to impulse-purchase territory.
As for the Town Hall, our Lego K.K's Concert at the Plaza review felt it could have been more detailed on the whole but still served as an excellent centrepiece to your Animal Crossing collection. And with just over £20 off, the value goes up enough to excuse some shortcomings.
It's unclear how long these sales will go on for, so if you're tempted, I'd recommend acting fast - especially if you want to avoid missing out on final shipping dates.
