There's an actual honest to God Mass Effect theme park ride on the way

Great America is building a 4D holographic Mass Effect ride, which seems as good a time as any to use this GIF:

"Wut?!"

According to the press release "Great America guests will be taken on a thrilling adventure across the galaxy where they will travel through awe-inspiring landscapes, face off against bigger than life adversaries and ultimately help save the day. "

It'll feature settings and characters from the game, "cutting edge technology" and live performers - right now there could be a line of NCIS extras queuing up to audition for 'third Krogan'. There's also that "4D holographic " element which most likely means hot air and water misters firing in your face. Space! It's like opening the door to a sauna!

There's no date on this yet beyond "next season", so it's likely building on the original trilogy rather than Andromeda. Whatever the source material, 2016 looks like a big year for video game theme park rides which totally appears to be a thing now. Nintendo is licensing attractions at Universal and Ubisoft opening up an entire park. Who's up for a roadtrip?
