Deadpool looks to be ramping up its casting process, with Deadline reporting that Fox is testing a number of actresses opposite Ryan Reynolds for the film’s female lead.
According to the report, Orange Is The New Black star Taylor Schilling and Homeland’s Morena Baccarin are two of the bigger names in the running to take on the role, the identity of which remains to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the studio is also said to be looking at Crystal Reed, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Sarah Greene and Jessica De Gouw, with the testing process set to continue over the coming weeks.
Plot details remain sketchy at present, although Reynolds has hinted at a more adult-themed comic-book movie, pointing to its relatively low budget as a creative boon while also hinting it may aim for an R-rating.
Directed by Tim Miller, the film is currently scheduled to open in the UK and US on 12 February 2016, with cameras set to begin rolling in Vancouver in March.
