If you don't already know the story, Star Wars' Captain Phasma exists basically because the costume designer for The Force Awakens thought it would be "cool" (opens in new tab) to have a Stormtrooper wear silver. She's there to look awesome and sell toys. And it sounds like she'll be even cooler than before in The Last Jedi (opens in new tab).
According to Making Star Wars (opens in new tab), Phasma has a new spear or staff-like weapon in The Last Jedi. The website's source says she "looks killer" with it, but there's no photos or concept art or anything showing what it looks like. If I had to guess, it might look similar to the Emperor's Royal Guard's staves seen in Return of the Jedi and other extended universe material.
But really, with Phasma being so thoroughly disgraced during the events of TFA, maybe it looks less First Order-y and more cobbled together. Something she put together to escape the trash compactor, maybe? Let your imagination run wild. I certainly will.
Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
