2) Use a New Pokemon Type
Most of the Pokemon players we've encountered greatly favor offensive Pokemon. For 2008, why not try a Pokemon type you're not accustomed to? Train an outstanding Physical Wall like Skarmory or a Special Wall like Blissey. Fashion a Pokemon to use as an annoyer or baton passer or cleric. If you load up on Special Attackers, make some fine Physical Attackers. There's bound to be something missing from your Pokemon arsenal. Fill the gaps in 2008!
3) Go to a Pokemon Event
This might be hard for some of you, depending on where you live and what kind of transportation you have access to. However, if you can swing it, go to the next Pokemon event! Like the game itself, attending an event can be a rewarding adventure with great treasures in store. Every time I look at my event Manaphy, I think about the trek I made with GamesRadar's Brett and Carolyn, which in turn makes me reminisce of my Pokemon fun with them. If you're on the older side, don't worry! The DS' WiFi capabilities allow you to receive your Pokemon from outside the store, so you're not a 30-something surrounded by a group of kids.
4) Give the Gift of Pokemon
Be generous in 2008 with your Pokemon. This doesn't mean we want you to give away all your legendaries or anything. However, giving away a few legendaries or some rare starters from previous games will help other players out immensely. Offload some extra TMs, rare berries, extra items, etc. It's just good karma. Give and you're sure to get back.
