Jason Patric has been hired to play the villain in Warners' adaptation of The Losers.
He'll play a corrupt, insane CIA agent named Max who sets up the titular black ops team to be slaughtered.
They survive (it'd be a short story otherwise) and come after him.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba are playing members of the team in the film, which is shooting right now with Sylvain White directing.
But from his statement about the casting news, you'd think Patric was doing the world - and geeks everywhere - the biggest favour ever.
"Let's face it, the geeks have inherited the world, and if you want to be a player in this system, you have to be willing to do some of this," Patric tells Variety.
"But I wouldn't do The Losers if it wasn't interesting to me as an actor."
Right. And we suppose you starred in Speed 2: Cruise Control for the same reason?
