A shiny new trailer for Vanishing on 7th Street , a sci-fi thriller starring Hayden Christensen, has hit the web.
Christensen stars as TV reporter Luke, a survivor caught up in a bizarre apocalyptic scenario: daylight seems to be diminishing, and people are literally disappearing in the darkness.
He joins forces with fellow survivors Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo, and they try to stay alive by keeping away from the shadows.
There are echoes of I Am Legend , but it's debatable whether or not Christensen will have the chops to carry it, though he does have a bit more company than Will Smith had.
The 'shadow hands' that show up towards the end of the trailer aren't exactly terrifying, but director Brad Anderson has good previous form, having directed a super-skinny Christian Bale to atmospheric effect in The Machinist .

Vanishing on 7th Street doesn't have a release date at present, but it's expected to arrive in 2011.
