Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream fans say who needs an official Switch stylus when you can use carrots and inside-out bags of chips for next-level Mii creation instead

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has had me in a chokehold since its recent demo dropped, and judging by fellow fans' mind-blowing Mii creations, I'm not the only one – but just how are they designing some of these?

That's what I've been asking myself, at least, since I first browsed online forums after playing the demo. I figured folks are using styluses on the touchscreen – because how could they not be, with some of the fine attention to detail with the game's new paint tool I've seen going on – but I thought it'd be the, erm, official Switch 2 stylus or something. You know, the so-called "Touch Pen" you can order online? Well, I was wrong. Very, very wrong.

In fact, fans' creativity extends outside of Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, as there are people using literal carrots as styluses, apparently. Just check this post over on Reddit for proof. "So," it reads, "carrot as a stylus works." Attached is a video showing someone, yes, using a carrot to design their Mii.

"You're telling me instead of paying £5 for 3 stylus pens to draw on my Miis, I coulda used A GOD DAMN CARROT," exclaims the top comment.

It seems you could've indeed, anon. Another fan jests, "Don't share this!!! You'll put Nintendo out of business when nobody buys the £25 Stylus pens they'll drop!" Well, those pens do already technically exist – but I get the joke, and I'm so here for all the humor.

It's especially amusing, seeing as, as one player points out, "my 3DS stylus doesn’t even work on it." But, yep, a real-life carrot does… and that's not the only silly item that works, either.

Over on TikTok, there's a video of a fan who made a makeshift stylus out of aluminum – and another who simply used an empty, "inside out" bag of chips.

What's next? I'm not sure, but I can't wait to see – especially with the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream release on April 16 quickly approaching. The only sad part of all this is the fact that the recent rumors of a potential 70 Mii limit were confirmed by Nintendo yesterday.

How can there be such a limit when the community clearly has such a capacity for creativity, huh? In all seriousness, though, I'm loving what I've seen so far from fans – carrot styluses, chip bag pens, horrifying Miis, and all.
