After 13 years in one instance and nearly a decade in another, two of the most successful driving games ever made are finally making the jump away from PC.
During the Future Games Show at gamescom, developer SCS Software confirmed that Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator are coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. In a teasing new trailer filled with references to the games and their new platforms, the team finally confirmed that "the truck sims are coming to consoles" on a TV flanked by the green light of an Xbox and the blue light of a PS5.
Much of the rest of the trailer is filled with exactly the kind of truckin' goodness that fans of the series have come to expect over the years. While it's not everyone's cup of tea, there's a truly dedicated group of fans of these games, some of them walking among us at GamesRadar+ HQ. Until now they've been limited to the world of PC gaming, but when this update arrives they'll be available to play for the first time from the comfort of your sofa.
Whether that will appeal to the fans who have spent years putting enormous mutli-screen, force-feedback setups together remains to be seen, but at least they seem to have a little while to decide. Right now, there's no release date for these console ports on offer, but you'll be able to wishlist them on the PlayStation and Microsoft stores, and find out more via the official SCS website.
