The latest expansion for Holdfast: Nations At War gets a new gameplay trailer at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, with plenty of musket-based chaos and revolutionary action.
Holdfast: American Revolution expands the bases game's historical theatres of conflict to include the war for independence against the British Empire. Best of all, it's a completely free major update and will launch on June 11 on all platforms that Holdfast is currently playable on. And on the same day, Holdfast will also be releasing on Xbox Play Anywhere.

You can either fight as an American Patriot or as a British Loyalist battling for king or country in chaotic 150-player battles, where squad-based tactics, co-ordination, and discipline are essential to victory. Whichever, side you choose, your success in battle and player score can unlock exclusive rewards too. It's the third era of war to be added to Holdfast, joining the Napoleonic Wars and the trench warfare of the First World War.
American Revolution also introduces four historical battlefields that were crucial to real revolution: Bunker Hill, Boston Harbor, the Delaware, and Saratoga. Landing boats will help you gain a foothold for your assault against the enemy, but playing the objective is the real path to winning the fight.
You'll of course get to experience these new maps and fight for the Americans and the British through the many classes available in Holdfast. From commanding Officers to rank-and-file Line Infantry and Grenadiers, each one brings to bear their own traits, arms, and more.
