Ved: Recure sees your Steam pile of shame and made a whole game out of it
Imagine suddenly being trapped in one of the games you've never played
I don't know whether to be impressed or ashamed that so many of us have a Steam pile of shame (I'm looking at you Steam Sale) that it's inspired developer SummerClip to create Ved: Recure.
This game's whole premise is that you're trapped inside the 1000th game that you've bought but never played. I mean my pile of shame isn't that bad but it certainly made me feel a teensy bit remorseful for all the Steam games I've not yet gotten round to playing.
As you can see in the latest trailer that just dropped as part of the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, this is a fast-paced action roguelike with plenty of high-octane combat. And handily, there's a demo dropping right now on Steam, so you can check it out for yourself.
To escape your regretful purchase, you're going to have fight through challenging encounters, utilising the game's Buff Chain system that lets you create a variety of builds to cater to various playstyles.
You'll have to combine these builds with mastering dodges and counters, and other timing-driven mechanics in order to survive.
Developer SummerClip aims to create a game that combines the replayability of roguelikes through the Buff Chain system without losing the brilliant chaos of a 3D action game.
With seven characters to play as you'll also have alternative options for replayability, as each one comes with its own weapons, abilities, and strategic plus points.
Ved: Recure doesn't have a release date yet, but it's pencilled in for Fall 2026 on PC. You can wishlist it and play the demo right now on Steam.
