Duskfade gets a release date at the Future Games Show and reveals when you can take a trip down its PS2 platformer memory lane
If you loved games like Jak and Daxter and Spyro, then Duskfade's retro action adventure is not one to miss
If you love old school gaming, then August is your month as Duskfade reveals an August 13th release with a new trailer at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase. This fast-paced action adventure is a self proclaimed "love letter to classic 3D action" that will see you testing your reactions as much as your nostalgia when it leaps on to PC, PS5, Switch and Xbox Series X.
Duskfade is directly inspired by classic PlayStation 2 games like Kingdom Hearts, Spyro and Jak and Daxter. So think chunky, rail-sliding, wall-running platform action, mixed with bright, colourful fantasy.
Playing as Zirian, you'll set out on an adventure to save your sister from a mysterious Clock Tower that has plunged the land into an eternal night. With your mechanical Cuckoo companion by your side, you'll explore a variety of landscapes and environments on your quest, battling and exploring your way through the game.
It's a world full of ethereal forests, underwater areas, sandy dunes, and cloudy heights, all built and shaped by Master Clockmakers to test your skills in the style of the classic action platformers you know and love. This is a game full of dynamic platforming as you jump, dash, grapple, and glide your way through challenging environments full of secrets to discover, with reactive, fast-paced fights against enemies and bosses, each embodying an emotional hurdle, to test your combat skills with your sword, Minutero.
In-between the jumping, fighting and beautiful locations you'll encounter a cast of endearing characters as you journey through a coming-of-age journey filled with emotional moments full of loss and courage as Zirian faces down the unknown to save his sister.
