Of all the spin offs underway - like Rogue One and the Han Solo movie - it's the Obi-Wan Star Wars movie idea that regularly excites fans.
And, it appears, that even Ewan McGregor, who played the Jedi in the prequels, is up for the idea. Speaking to Comicbook.com he says “I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one". He also points out that age wise it's pretty much the perfect time: "It would be fun to film that story now I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them!”
He certainly seems keen to see something happen with his character in the spin off anthology films. “I hope that they’re going to explore different genres under the Star Wars banner. And one of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!”
So, just to double check: the fans want it, the star wants it and there are plenty of great reasons why an Obi-Wan movie would be amazing. Surely it's just a matter of time before Disney/Lucasfilm ink a deal?
