You've made it to the weekend and that means it's time to kick back, relax, and watch some great movies on Netflix. But perhaps you're not sure what you're in the mood for? Well, that's where a list like this comes in handy. On this page we've selected three films to thrill and entertain you over the next few days.

This week is dominated by the arrival of BTS: THE RETURN, a new documentary following the world's biggest boyband as they record their new album (which is out today, how's that for synergy?). But if that's not for you then one of the best films of the last five years has also recently been added to the streamer, as has a moving new Spanish dramedy.

For even more suggestions, make sure to check out our guide to the best new shows and movies on streaming. Or find out what's coming up with our guides to everything new on Netflix in April 2026 and everything new on Disney Plus in April 2026 too.

Netflix are styling this boyband documentary in all caps, so we will too. BTS: THE RETURN (no need to shout, lads) charts the course of the phenomenally popular South Korean band's return to making music following a four year break. The result is ARIRANG, their 10th studio album, which was released today.

This surprisingly honest documentary focuses on the hard work that goes into making a record – the long days, the repetition, and the understandable anxieties that come from being a part of the biggest band on the planet. It offers compelling insights into the group's dynamics in a way that make this worth a watch, even if you're not a member of BTS's committed ARMY.

Watch BTS: THE RETURN.

Anatomy of a Fall

Watch On

Available: US

This gripping French legal drama is one of the best films of the last few years. Anatomy of a Fall takes place in the aftermath of the sudden death of university lecturer Samuel Maleski (Samuel Theis). His widow, Sandra (a superb Sandra Hüller) is sure that he must have fallen accidentally, while her friend Vincent (Swann Arlaud) believes that Samuel may have taken his own life. Following an investigation, however, another theory comes to life: might Sandra have killed Samuel?

Directed and co-written by Justine Triet, Anatomy of a Fall is a tense courtroom drama about the tensions that bubble up within marriages, while also touching on larger themes such as gender inequality. Brilliantly written and acted, it's a modern masterpiece.

53 Sundays

Watch On

Available: US/UK

This Spanish dramedy from writer/director Cesc Gay, based on his own play, follows three siblings as they grapple with their elderly father's cognitive decline. Natalia (Carmen Machi), a university professor, calls a meeting with her brothers, actor Julián (Javier Cámara), and attorney Victor (Javier Gutiérrez). Their troubled relationship, however, leads to more bickering than discussion. Will these three hot-headed siblings be able to resolve things long enough to actually help their father, or will they just make everything that bit worse?

Sounds heavy, huh? But while 53 Sundays is about a sensitive subject, there's plenty of wit and absurdity here that makes the film is genuinely funny as well as touching. A low key gem.

Watch 53 Sundays.
