Doctor Who's Michelle Gomez is 'The Lady' of Gotham season 2

We're already eight episodes in to Gotham season 2 (in the US), but its cast continues to grow. Recently news came that B.D. Wong and Nathan Darrow will be showing up as Batman villains Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze respectively, and now Doctor Who star Michelle Gomez will make her presence felt on the show as 'The Lady'.

We don't know too much more about whom Gomez will be playing when she makes her debut in an episode entitled A Bitter Pill To Swallow, set to air in the US tonight. Gotham could always use more characters who are fighting the good fight, but even if 'The Lady' turns out to be a villain, here's hoping the show will utilise Gomez' talents.

Co-starring Benjamin McKenzie, Donal Logue, Robin Taylor, Michael Chiklis, David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova, Gotham season 2 is currently airing Monday nights on FOX in the US and will debut in the UK on Channel 5 in 2016.
