Damnation is a brand-new IP from Codemasters described as a third person action/shooter in development for PC, PS3 and 360.
In development at Blue Omega Entertainment, formerly a video studio that's now venturing into the world of games, Damnation "will feature huge, open environments, frenetic combat, daredevil acrobatics and high-octane vehicle-based stunts."
We seriously need to get the phrase "high-octane" banned.
The game is said to be inspired by "iconic elements of American history", with Codemasters adding it's a "shooter gone vertical". What does that mean?
"These massive streaming landscapes will form the battlegrounds for a post-industrial conflict between humanity and an unstoppable arms dealer hell-bent on total world domination," the firm tells us.
The open-ended gameplay will apparently allow you to choose your own paths and "perform feats on the edge of human ability". But your enemies will also be acrobatic ninjas, giving chase and shooting at you from all directions.
Damnation will offer vehicles and "huge, armour-piercing marvels that will induce mayhem with every huge shell," adds Codemasters.

The game will also feature a multiplayer mode. Although no further details were given, Damnation is currently scheduled to release on all three platforms in late 2008. In the meantime, clickhereto see more screenshots.
